City Councilman-elect Stephen Levin considers Boerum Hill home office

9 10 2009

The young politician, who resides in Greenpoint, stopped by the Boerum Hill Association meeting this week to greet board members and listen to concerns. He told the group that he was looking for a home office at street level, with an attractive storefront that included wheelchair access. Levin liked Boerum Hill because it was central to his district and had easily accessible public transport. The only thing it came down to, as usual, was money. His staff is currently investigating options around the district.

Outgoing councilman David Yasky’s office was at 114 Court St., just a stone throw away from Borough Hall. Hey Steve, you might want to check out the south side of Atlantic, between Court and Boerum (my home block) – there are probably 4 or 5 different vacant units there, and many have been empty for several years. Rent’s gotta be cheap. It’s central. Near the Bergen F and Borough Hall. It would certainly spruce up the block, which needs sprucing badly. And you can head over the Trader Joe’s for lunch. Loud as hell though. Good luck with your hunt.

Does anyone care too much where his office will be based?

My name is Dr. JJ Pursell and I am expanding my business, The Herb Shoppe, to the Boerum Hill neighborhood from Portland, Or. A little about my business is below. One of the biggest reasons for coming to your neighborhood was the great foot traffic and entrepreneur spirit. Providing resources on traditional health and building community are the foundations of The Herb Shoppe. I am also looking forward to forming relationships within the Boerum Hill business district. Please contact me about any gatherings, meet and greets that may be coming up.
Many thanks and be well,
